2021 Landwein "MUS21", Oberrhein, Germany

Still somewhat unapproachable, nutty and somewhat smoky aroma with pome fruit and citrus flavours, a little mushroom, thyme, light earthy-mineral tones and a hint of tobacco. Ripe, slightly warm, melting fruit with nutty, slightly vegetal and restrained buttery notes, earthy and mushroomy hints on the palate, moderate acidity, some grip from crumbly tannin, persistent, certain depth, hints of pulses, chalk and salt in the background, very good finish.
