2021 Gutedel Landwein "Jaspis 10hoch4" Alte Reben, Oberrhein, Germany

Smoky and nutty aroma with fine, restrained, light yellow-fruity flavours, mineral tones, artichokes and aromas reminiscent of chives. Firm, slender, tart, juicy fruit with lively, very fine acidity and nutty tones, still slightly yeasty, herbaceous flavours and citrus zest on the palate, smoky hints, salty, chalky minerality, a hint of butter, maritime notes in the background, good depth, still undeveloped, very good, firm, cool finish with a fine grip, lots of bite and minerality. Needs two days of aeration, appears very slender at first and will only reveal its true substance with plenty of time.
