2009 Heitersheim Sonnhohle Spätburgunder Auslese trocken Löwe, Grande Réserve, Baden, Germany

Aged, somewhat hazy, dried-vegetable and woody, also slightly herbaceous and ashy nose with matt fruit aromas as well as animal and nutty tones. Thick, woody and nutty-chocolatey in the mouth, again blurred, compote and rather dull fruit, smoky and distinctly vegetal flavours, drying tannin, rather powerful body, alcoholic, without subtleties, only the body and the certain persistence save the wine halfway, tones reminiscent of ashtrays, gains a bit of juice with air, rancid chocolate and bitter tones in the alcoholic finish
