The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The winery is located in the community of Iphofen (Steigerwald area) in the German Franconian wine region. A guest house is attached. The business is managed by Werner Weigand; son Andi is responsible for the cellar technology. The vineyards comprise 9.5 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Julius-Echter-Berg, Kalb and Kronsberg (Iphofen), as well as Küchenmeister and Schwanleite (Rödelsee). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Weißburgunder(Pinot Blanc), Riesling, Bacchus and Scheurebe as well as Spätburgunder(Pinot Noir). About half of the stock are very old vines, which are still cultivated according to the philosophy of the house.

Organic (ecological) viticulture is practised according to the rules of the Naturland association. Only fully ripe and healthy grapes are processed by selective manual harvesting in several passes. In the cellar, a non-invasive principle is applied with as few interventions as possible and, with the exception of minimal sulphurization, complete renunciation of additives. The musts are fermented spontaneously as a matter of principle. The white wines are stored on the for a long time. The wines are produced in the three lines Der Held, Der Franke and Der Wilde. Depending on the wine tap, they are aged in stainless steel tanks, in conventional large wooden barrels or in .
