2021 Saulheim Hölle Spätburgunder trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Slightly dried floral and a hint of undergrowth on the nose, red and a little black berries, some preserved cherries and hints of beetroot. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit, smoky, slightly roasted and hints of peppery notes, a little bitter chocolate and coffee on the palate, fine sandy tannins, persistent, certain power and warmth, chalk and salt in the background, some lead pencil, very good, warm finish with ripe fruit and tart spice.
