2021 Randersacker Marsberg Silvaner trocken Alte Reben, Grande Reserve "Fass 228", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Firm, tart and dense, clearly vegetal and slightly smoky nose with yellow-fruity aromas, dried herbs and flowers, a little tobacco, cabbage, fresh mushrooms and clear earthy to mineral notes. Fairly tightly knit, concentrated, juicy and spicy fruit with nutty and tobacco barrel tones, lots of grip from crumbly tannins and fine acidity, persistent on the palate, has substance and depth, quite clear minerality, very good, melting and at the same time grippy, juicy and spicy finish with some dried herbs and a hint of mustard seeds.

Editor note: Firm, deep and multi-layered, clearly vegetal scent with reserved, quite noble yellow fruity aromas, hints of smoke, fine mushroom tones, a little herbs, floral traces and minerality. Ripe, dense, somewhat warm fruit with almost a little sweetish juice, clearly vegetal aromas reminiscent of pointed cabbage and pak choi, nutty tones, with air increasingly also smoke and wood, persistent on the palate, good depth, mushrooms in the background, almost still compact structure, bacony nuances, chalky and salty minerality, very good, firm, grippy finish with melting, juice and tart spiciness. Must mature.
