2019 Gündelbach Wachtkopf Merlot trocken "S", Württemberg, Germany

Relatively firm and deep, somewhat spicy, herbal and slightly peppery aroma of predominantly dark berries with a hint of meat juice and mint. Firmly woven, dark, tangy fruit with some nutty wood and a hint of paprika, present, youthful tannin, good substance, some depth, persistent on the palate, has despite all power also fresh flavours, hints of cloves, juniper and star anise, Mediterranean herbs, a hint of salt in the very good, only slightly drying finish.
