Clear, fairly firm nose, more black than red berries, light tobacco and hints of cedary oak, some root vegetables and aubergine, coffee and very light peppery aromas. Clear, finely juicy, cool and rather slender fruit, again a little coffee-roasted wood, also chocolate and smoky notes, some acid bite and crumbly-sandy tannins, good persistence, chalky-salty minerality in the background, a little rosehip on a very good finish.

Best to drink: 2025-2030+. What our ratings mean
