2021 Leimen Herrenberg Chardonnay Grosses Gewächs trocken "Lange Wingert S", Baden, Germany

Quite firm, somewhat smoky-woody, nutty and vegetal to dried-herbal citrus scent with a hint of dark berries and pepper as well as nuances reminiscent of nutmeg, roasted artichoke and butter. Clear, juicy, tightly knitted fruit with a delicately sweet melt, hints of fennel and dried mushrooms, very fine acidity, somewhat crumbly tannin, good substance and persistence, hints of sage and liquorice, also a hint of rapeseed oil, quite distinct minerality, a hint of butter in the very good, again sweet finish.
