The winery is located in the municipality of Pomerania (area Terrassenmosel) in the German Moselle
wine region. The tradition-rich business is managed in the eleventh generation of the family by Kilian Moritz and his mother Hildegard Moritz. The vineyards comprise almost ten hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Goldberg, Rosenberg, Sonnenuhr
(Pomerania), Kapellenberg (Treis), as well as Brauneberg (Klotten). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Rivaner, Sauvignon Blanc and Gewürztraminer, and the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Merlot. In the Rosenberg vineyard there are root-true
Rieslings from the year 1860, which, according to a Geisenheim study
carried out in 2007, are among the oldest vines
in Europe. The grapes are always harvested, pressed and aged separately. There are also old Müller-Thurgau vines from 1932 in the Zeisel site, and the premium wines include the best site Rieslings. We also produce bottle-fermented sparkling wines and, with distilling rights in place since 1833, fine spirits (marc, yeast, fruit). The winery is a member of the associations Köche & Winzer der Terrassenmosel and Generation Riesling.
