2015 Nierstein Hipping Riesling Grosses Gewächs, Rheinhessen, Germany

Clear, cool, fairly polished citrus and stone fruit nose with dried vegetal and nutty notes and a hint of bacon. Finely juicy, cool fruit with moderate, sweetish melting, fine, lively acidity and a little yellow spice, good persistence, grip of crumbly tannin, planty to herbal tones, clear minerality, hints of smoke, some depth, very good, sweetish-juicy and again nutty finish with minerality and tension. In excellent condition.

Best to drink: Bis 2028+. What our ratings mean

Cool, polished, fairly juicy fruit on the palate, very lively acidity, yeasty, vegetal and herbaceous aromas, persistent, firm bite, noticeable ripe tannins, floral traces, some dark berries in the background, prominent mineral notes, has some depth, firm grip and very juicy on a gripping finish.
