2018 Bockenau Spätburgunder VDP.Ortswein trocken "R", Nahe, Germany

Somewhat mushroomy, herbaceous, nutty and very slightly bacony aroma of partly preserved, predominantly red berries with a little cherry and a hint of cocoa. Warm, relatively tart fruit with a hint of mint and liquorice, sandy, very slightly drying tannin, good persistence, nutty and slightly toasty wood flavours in the background, has power and some warmth, pepper, anise and a hint of salt, very good finish grip.
