The winery is located in the municipality of Volkach (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region of
Franconia. It was founded in 1918 and built up by four generations. In 2015, the business was sold by the long-standing owner family Flammersberger to Peter Heidecker. Master cellarer Sebastian Schubert is responsible for the winemaking. The vineyards cover around 11 hectares of vines mainly in the single vineyard Ratsherr (Volkach), some of which have a
slope of over 50%, as well as Sonnenwinkel (Altmannsdorf). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Rieslaner, Müller-Thurgau, Gewürztraminer, Bacchus, Kerner and Chardonnay as well as with the red wine varieties Domina, Pinot Noir, Acolon, Schwarzriesling and Regent.
The vineyards are cultivated in an environmentally friendly and natural way, which includes a
cover crop of the vine rows. For the purpose of quality-enhancing yield reduction, manual
thinning is carried out. The top wines include the barrique-aged white wine HEMERA (Pinot Blanc & Chardonnay) and the red wine cuvée NYX (Black Riesling & Pinot Noir). In years with suitable weather conditions,
ice wine is also produced. In addition, Secco (sparkling wine), noble brandies (fruit, berries, sloe), liqueurs (sour cherry, hazelnut) and white mulled wine are also produced. The winery is a member of the Franconian winegrowers' association Frank & Frei
