2001 Kiedrich Gräfenberg Riesling Trockenbeerenauslese, Rheingau, Germany

Intense, as yet decidedly undeveloped nose of candied yellow fruits, caramel, flower petals and some honey. Very concentrated and with tremendous sweetness, extremely elegant racy acidity, oily texture, tremendous tension and depth, only just beginning to show its potential, extremely persistent and very long finish. This is a cautious, preliminary assessment, will probably be rated higher from 2010 onwards.
