2018 Zell Schloßberg Spätburgunder trocken "['drai]", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Somewhat vegetal to dried herbal, nutty and slightly bacony aroma of mixed berries with slightly smoky and mushroomy hints as well as a touch of salmiac. Straightforward, tart fruit with some acid bite, some spicy, dark wood as well as a hint of laurel, present, sandy tannin, has power, good persistence, hints of star anise and pepper, chalky tones, good, only slightly drying and bitterish finish.
