The winery is located in the community of Traben-Trarbach (Bernkastel area) in the German Mosel wine region. It was founded in 1991 by Martin Müllen. The vineyards comprise almost five hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Rosenberg (Kinheim), Kirchlay, Letterlay, Paradies and Steffensberg (Kröv), Königsberg and Würzgarten (Traben), as well as in the Hühnerberg with areas reactivated by the winery (Trarbach). They are planted with 80% Riesling, the rest with Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. Some of the vines are very old and have true roots. The quality criteria in the vineyard are restrictive fertilization, special care of the old vines, low yields and selective manual harvesting.

The vinification process is particularly committed to tradition. The aim is to produce wines that are typical of their location and have a long shelf life. The pressing is done with ancient basket presses. Fermentation takes place spontaneously with the vineyard's own yeasts. In suitable years also Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein are pressed. Hand shaken is also produced. The winery is a member of the "Klitzekleinenring", a group of winegrowers dedicated to the rescue of extreme steep slopes.
