2011 Oppenheim Herrenberg Spätburgunder trocken ***, Rheinhessen, Germany

Slightly acidic-vegetable and earthy aroma of dried black berries with red berry nuances, a little dried herbs and a hint of smoke. Slightly malty and dried fruit in the mouth, smoky and bitterish toasty wood, sandy tannin and dried herbal notes, a bit earthy on the palate, good substance and some persistence, noticeable alcohol, chocolaty and nutty tones, not eternally deep, bitterish ashy nuances, good to very good, if a bit drying finish.
