2021 Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT "Cassiano", Alto Adige, Italy

Firm, fairly deep nose, ripe black berries with red berry notes, some sour cherries, tobacco, cedary and roasted oak, tart nutty notes, leather, blood and iodine. Ripe, tart-juicy, rather dark fruit with smoky and roasted flavours, bacony nuances, some smoke, tobacco, bitter chocolate and coffee grounds, crumbly-sandy tannins, persistent on the palate, certain depth, some alcohol warmth, a hint of nut liqueur in the background, still undeveloped, very good, albeit still very slightly drying finish with warm fruit and ethereal spice.

Best to drink: Mitte 2024 bis 2029+. What our ratings mean
