The winery is located in the old village centre of the municipality of Piesport (Bernkastel area) directly on the Moselle in the German Moselle wine growing region. The winegrowing tradition of the family goes back to the 17th century. In 1988 the business was taken over by Gernot Hain. The hotel "Piesporter Goldtröpfchen" is attached. The vineyards comprise almost six hectares of vineyards in the sites Domherr, Goldtröpfchen and Falkenberg. They are 85% planted with Riesling, the rest with Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau and Bacchus. In the vineyard, we work consistently according to the rules of integrated viticulture with, for example, permanent greenery and, wherever possible, the use of herbicides is avoided. The wines are matured in the vaulted cellar, which is over 200 years old and made of slate rock. Most of them mature in stainless steel, some in wooden barrels and the Pinot Noir in barrique. While the fruit-sweet wines ferment spontaneously, pure yeasts are used for the dry wines.
