2020 Hallgarten Hendelberg Spätburgunder Auslese trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Warm, somewhat malty and slightly herbal-vegetable scent of predominantly black berries with a hint of cherries. Warm dark fruit with toasty and bitter-chocolatey wood spice, quite present, fine sandy tannin, slightly ethereal notes, a hint of malty and floral, some persistence, sweet melting, abundant alcohol, little varietal character, somewhat thickened fruit and slightly ethereal spice in the alcoholic finish.
