2012 Spätburgunder Devonschiefer R, Reserve, Versteigerungswein, Ahr, Germany

Fairly tart, deep, slightly woody and tobacco-like nose, predominantly dark berries, nutty, earthy and bitter chocolate notes, touch of leather and mineral notes. More dark fruit on the palate, slightly bitter chocolate and some ashen sooty notes, elegant acid bite, slightly astringent tannins, very good persistence and substance, fairly prominent mineral notes, more taut and cool, tart finish with air tobacco nuances, a lot of mineral, and cool, bitter juice.
