2007 Spätburgunder trocken Devonschiefer R, Versteigerungswein, Ahr, Germany

Deep, complex nose, ripe red and some black berries, intense mineral notes, herbaceous notes, roasted and spicy notes. Firm and full-bodied on the palate, initially loads of smoky roasted oak, with aeration increasingly develops more juicy, ripe fruit, which overshadows the oak, some malted notes and a hint of black olives, herbs and spices and some tobacco, mineral foundation, very persistent, excellent depth, still young, complex with prominent salty mineral notes and smoky oak, tobacco on a long finish.
