Clear cassis on the nose, mineral notes, fairly prominent roasted, spicy oak. Quite juicy fruit with lots of spicy oak, cool smoky aromas, quite fine, dusty tannins, quite astringent, full-bodied with good substance, dry, fruity and prominent smoky notes on the finish. Will probably never fully integrate the ample oak, and I fear that, in spite of some good material, the wine will proably become harder again from 2006 onwards. Uncertain rating.
