2019 Freinsheim Musikantenbuckel Spätburgunder trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Somewhat woody and dried-vegetable to tobacco aroma of mixed berries and a hint of cherries with citrus tones, hints of mushrooms and a little herbs. Tart, somewhat smoky fruit with noticeable acid bite and slightly drying, sandy tannins, a little bitter chocolate and a hint of coffee on the palate, a hint of malt and liquorice, salty hints, not eternally deep, good to very good, somewhat cocoa-spiced finish.

Editor note: Warm aroma of partly preserved mixed berries with floral and slightly cherry aromas, citrus traces, hints of juniper, wasabi and a little dried herbs. Quite juicy fruit with relatively present acidity, fine, youthful tannin, some persistence, herbal and hints of peppery-etheric notes, good persistence, nutty barrel tones, noticeable alcohol, a little smoky in the good to very good, slightly drying finish.
