The winery is located in the municipality of Freinsheim (Mittelhaardt-Deutsche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz. It was founded in 1982 by Harald Krebs. After practical training at other wineries and training as a viticultural technician in Bad-Kreuznach, son Jürgen Krebs has been responsible for cellar technology since 2005. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards Goldberg, Musikantenbuckel, Oschelskopf with the Gewann Auf dem mittleren Groß and Schwarzes Kreuz (Freinsheim), as well as Honigsack and Himmelreich (Herxheim). The white wine varieties Riesling, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, and the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Mitos, Dornfelder, Blauer Portugieser are cultivated.
The wines are marketed in the lines Cuvées, Estate Wines, Local Wines, First Sites and Best Sites & Reserve Wines. The white wines are largely vinified in stainless steel. The red wines mature after mash fermentation in large wooden barrels or up to 20 months in barrique. Premium wines include the red wine "Spätburgunder Freinsheimer Musikantenbuckel" and the white wine "Riesling Herxheimer Himmelreich". Sparkling wines and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. Around 80,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of the Generation association Riesling.
