2016 Freinsheim Musikantenbuckel Spätburgunder trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Clear, fairly fim nose, light spicy oak and some peanuts, red and a few black berries, delicate floral, smoky and earthy notes, mineral traces. Clear, firm, tart, juicy fruit on the palate, moderate oak, earthy and dried vegetal traces, salty notes in the background, light acid bite, fairly prominent fine, sandy tannins, good substance and persistence, toasted and smoky notes, hint of bacon and mushrooms, initially slightly austere, but opens up with aeration, and even goes slightly soft in the contours, good to very good tart finish.
