2015 Freinsheim Spätburgunder trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Fairly polished nose, partly preserved red berries and cherries, hint of apple, floral and peppery traces, nutty oak, earthy and mineral traces, hint of licorice. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit on the palate, firm acidity, smoky oak, prominent vegetal and light floral notes, some cassis in the background, hint of tobacco, salty notes in the background, fairly prominent sandy tannins, still slightly astringentt, hint of bacon, firm acid bite again on a good to very good finish.
