2022 Amoltern Steinhalde Spätburgunder "R" ***, Baden, Germany

Clearer, firmer, somewhat Mediterranean-herbaceous and a hint of floral scent of black and red berries with cherry aromas as well as a bit of black olives. Ripe, quite firm-appearing, juicy fruit, smoky, somewhat nutty and restrained toasty wood spice, dark ethereal tones and again Mediterranean herbs on the palate, persistent and dense, still undeveloped, a bit of tobacco ash in the background, quite noticeable salt, still quite compact, certain depth, has power, but also freshness and cooling elements, some bittersweet chocolate and mint, very good, firm finish with ripe juice and again ethereal spice.
