The winery is located in the municipality of Endingen (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German Baden
wine region. It is owned by Thomas and Regina Rinker. In 1994 the Knab winery was bought. The vineyards comprise 22 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard Endinger Engelsberg. They are 95% planted with the Burgundy varieties Weißburgunder, Grauburgunder, Spätburgunder and Auxerrois as well as Chardonnay. The land is consistently cultivated in a nature-oriented, environmentally friendly manner. Quality criteria in the vineyard are reduced yields and selective manual harvesting. The white wines are fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks and are stored on the yeast for a long time until shortly before bottling. The red wines mature after the mash fermentation in large wooden barrels or in barriques. As a special Kaiserstuhl experience, a vinological tour in a vintage Unimog car through the vineyards to the Amolterer Heide nature reserve is offered. There is a video on this subject at www.stern/weinschule/spätburgunder. In the winery contemporary art with numerous paintings by Regina Rinker (painter) is exhibited.
