2020 Endingen Schlangeneck Spätburgunder ***, Baden, Germany

Firm and quite deep aroma of ripe black and red berries with quite noble wood spice, delicate fleshy tones, a little mushroom, undergrowth as well as peppery and juniper-ethereal hints. Firm and dense, juicy black and red fruit with youthful, present, yet fine and ripe tannins and a certain acidity, persistent on the palate, again very skilfully used, restrained, noble wood spice, dark ethereal notes in the background, salty minerality, has power and concentration, but no heaviness, still undeveloped, almost compact, very good, firm finish with ripe, tart dark juice and spice again going into the ethereal.
