2017 Bruchsal Rothenberg Spätburgunder trocken, Baden, Germany

A slightly herbaceous and slightly fungal nose of predominantly red berries with fleshy-animal traces that disappear with time, as well as a hint of coriander and earthy to mineral notes. Ripe fruit with nutty, woody and smoky notes, again somewhat fungusy and dried herbal on the palate, youthful, quite fine tannin, good substance and persistence, a hint of soot, clear minerality, firm structure, certain depth, very good, slightly smoky finish with increasing juice
