2014 Heilbronn Wartberg Weißer Riesling Auslese VDP.Erste Lage, Württemberg, Germany

Somewhat developed, relatively dark, slightly vegetal to herbaceous, tobacco and a hint of nutty aroma with aromas of partly candied yellow fruit. Firm, sweet, partly dried and candied fruit with smoky, dried-vegetable and slightly nutty aromas, a certain acid bite, good substance and persistence, quite clear minerality, relatively much grip of crumbly tannin, a hint of roasted onions and liquorice, slight warmth, very good, again firm finish. Completely underestimated by us when young.
