2018 Volkach Ratsherr Riesling Kabinett trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Firm, somewhat herbaceous and very mineral scent of partly candied citrus and stone fruit with earthy-mineral and vegetable notes. Sweet fruit with smoky to slightly bacon-like notes, herbal and vegetable aromas and clear minerality, lively acidity, touch of a little sandy tannin, quite persistent on the palate, good substance, juicy, again sweetish finish with smoke, herbal and vegetable notes and minerality. Wouldn't need the sugar at all
