2023 Riesling trocken "G-Max", Rheinhessen, Germany

Concentrated, fine and profoundly deep in the nose, hardly any fruit, but partly Mediterranean herbs, peppers, tobacco ash, fresh and dried, partly Mediterranean herbs, a hint of pine needle ether, suggested green bacon, finest mushroom notes, maple, a touch of pepper and intense minerality. Highly concentrated fruit, juicy and at the same time bitter, dominated by ethereal herbal notes, lively acidity, much grip from ripe tannins, smoky notes, finest vegetable tones, reminiscent of broccoli, very firm, slightly sweet core, delicate chili spiciness, very fine green bean tones, extreme, hard, chalky-stony minerality, incredible density, still completely undeveloped, leaves one completely finished even today, it is not only long, one also has the feeling that the wine cements and tiles one's throat and esophagus anew. Also still full of energy after minutes; one actually cannot believe it.
