2022 Westhofen Kirchspiel Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and quite deep, clear, relatively fine peach-citrus nose with delicate waxy tones, a hint of citrus zest, light floral traces, distinctly fresh maritime aromas and some minerality as well as a hint of honey with aeration. Cool, finely juicy, bright, ripe fruit, taut, very fine acidity, crumbly phenolic grip with fine bitter notes, quite dense and persistent on the palate, delicately sweetish melting, almost cold-looking, chalky and somewhat salty minerality, light flowers, a hint of orange zest, again with a fresh, maritime flavour reminiscent of oyster water, again with a hint of honey, very good, finely juicy, planty and mineral finish that gains noticeable traction with aeration.
