2022 Dalsheim Bürgel Spätburgunder VDP.Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

A firm and deep, slightly earthy, fungal and smoky aroma of more black than red berries with meaty notes, a bit of dried herbs and a hint of juniper. Ripe, firm, juicy fruit with astringent, slightly smoky barrel tones, underbrush and forest mushrooms, a bit of ethereal herbs in the background, chalky and salty tones, also a hint of pepper, then some root vegetables, certain depth, crumbly-sandy tannin, still slightly drying, has certain power, very good, firm finish.
