2021 Riesling trocken "G-Max", Rheinhessen, Germany

Abysmal, tart, dark and closed, downright massive bouquet with vegetal to tobacco aromas, hardly any fruit, some nuts, floral tones, certain barrel tones and clear minerality. Concentrated, tart and phenolic-gripping in the mouth, with very ripe, yet rather restrained fruit reminiscent of vineyard peach and partly candied citrus fillets, fine yellow spice and floral nuances, dense and persistent on the palate, has power and some warmth, lots of crumbly phenolic grip, tobacco nuances in the background, fine herbal tones, black berry tones, present, yet very ripe acidity, enormous depth, still completely undeveloped, complex and incredibly long. Needs time.
