2020 Westhofen Riesling VDP.Aus Ersten Lagen trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm, tart, nutty, yeasty aroma with restrained, cool yellow fruity aromas, hints of dark fruits, a little phenolic spice and minerality. Tight, quite dense, tart-juicy fruit, lively acidity, lots of grip of ripe tannin, yeasty notes, a little red berry tones on the palate, persistent, distinct, tart, salty-chalky minerality, peanutty flavours, citrus zest and very fine herbal nuances in the background, deep and multi-layered, quite firm structure, very good to long, firm, grippy, juicy and again distinctly mineral finish with some green tobacco. Becomes more complex and juicy over days.
