2020 Sylvaner trocken "Feuervogel", Rheinhessen, Germany

Firm and deep, a little smoky-reductive aroma with fine, quite complex vegetal aromas, bright yellow fruity tones, floral traces, still a little yeast and distinct minerality. Taut, cool and bright, tangy fruit, lively, fine acidity and plenty of grip of fine, crumbly tannin, again quite noble vegetal flavours on the palate, delicate root vegetables and Brussels sprouts, some white pepper and a hint of vinaigrette, clearly salt and also chalk in the background, smoky traces, good depth, lots of bite, has a downright sinewy backbone, very good, taut finish with tension, tart, bright juice, some yeast, vegetal flavours and again lots of minerality. May mature.
