2005 Kasel Timpert Riesling Spätlese feinherb, Mosel, Germany

Unusual nose characterised by very special, austere mineral notes, also black currant notes typical of the Ruwer, although not often found in such pronounced form, clear notes of peaches and pineapple. Quite tart on the palate with mineral notes, concentrated, delicately sweet, elegant acidity, some tannins and light bitter notes, well structured with good persistence, tart finish. Uncertain forecast, could improve with some bottle age, provided it does not become even more bitter.
