2017 Dürkheim Feuerberg Merlot trocken "Ausspann", Pfalz, Germany

Very slightly developed, a hint of ethereal nose of partly preserved black fruits with clear, somewhat sooty wood as well as dried mushroom and earthy hints. Tart dark fruit, again noticeable wood with bitter-sooty notes, a little earthy and dried-vegetable on the palate, slightly covering tannin, noticeable alcohol, a little bitter chocolate, also dried tomatoes and red peppers, not very deep, rather rustic character, good, alcoholic, somewhat drying finish.
