2018 Spätburgunder trocken "father & son", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Nutty, woody, somewhat leathery and dried floral nose with smoky and light earthy notes and a hint of cocoa. Ripe, quite juicy, partly preserved fruit with clear, smoky and chocolaty wood, but also a certain acid bite, nutty bitterness and coffee grounds in the background, has power, good persistence, some salt, present, fine sandy tannins, very good, firm, woody-spicy and juicy finish. Still a little dominated by the wood, but with enough substance for a good development.
