2013 Bürgstadt Centgrafenberg Frühburgunder trocken "J", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Prominent herbaceous and light peppery notes on the nose, malted notes and some mushrooms, ripe, partly dried red and black berries, hint of black olives, tobacco, undergrowth and oregano. Clear, straightforward, fairly tart fruit on the palate, earthy and dried vegetal notes, hint of tobacco and some old oak, slightly astringent tannins, good persistence, hint of tar in the background, salty mineral traces, good grip, nutty notes, still quite young, made in a traditional style, touch of tobacco, mushrooms and herbs on a very good finish. Opens up with aeration.

Editor note: Slightly sharp nose with some animal notes, light toasted oak, hint of tobacco, ripe red and a few black berries, leathery, earthy and floral notes. Ripe, fairly juicy fry fruit on the palate, nutty, spicy oak, slightly sandy tannins, hint of cocoa in the background, some substance and persistence, hint of tobacco, light volatile and lactic notes, earthy and salty mineral notes in the background, medium body, some grip, slightly rustic style, hint of cabbage, some smoked ham,, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, good, slightly astringent finish.
