The winery is located in the municipality of Trittenheim ( Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of Mosel. The ancestors of the Milz family were already growing grapes in 1520. The ancestral home "Laurentiushof" next to the church was built between 1680 and 1715 and has been preserved in its old style to this day. Today, the farm is run by Markus Milz. The vineyards cover six hectares of vines in the single vineyards Hofberger (Dhron), Laudamusberg, Nusswingert in sole ownership and Rosengärtchen (Neumagen), Geisberg (Ockfen), as well as Altärchen, Apotheke, Felsenkopf and Leiterchen; the latter two in sole ownership (Trittenheim). They are almost exclusively planted with Riesling and only 0.2 hectares of Pinot Blanc. The vineyards are cultivated according to KIP rules (Controlled Integrated Production). After the selective hand harvest in several passes, fermentation takes place in stainless steel or fuder barrels. Moderate oxidative ageing in wooden barrels is intended to produce longer-lived wines. About one third is exported to the USA, Canada, Japan, the Benelux countries and France. The winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).
