2011 Heimersheim Berg Spätburgunder trocken, Ahr, Germany

Smoothed scent of partially preserved red and a little black berries with old-wood, delicately vegetal and tobacco notes. Ripe, very slightly muted fruit in the mouth, woody and dried mushroom aromas, a hint of chocolate and coffee, with broccoli in the background, youthful tannin, warming alcohol, some persistence, a little jammy finish with cocoa notes.
