2005 Erbach Siegelsberg Riesling Erstes Gewächs, Rheingau, Germany

Clear, firm, somewhat herbal and a hint of tobacco, stone fruit and citrus nose with floral nuances and hints of yellow spice. Ripe, warm, sweetish fruit with herbal flavours, distinct caramel, yellow spice and candy notes, fine acidity and grip of crumbly tannin, waxy on the palate, hints of smoky, warming alcohol, certain persistence, some tobacco, hints of honey, mineral notes, good to very good, ripe, melting, warm and quite sweet finish with a little duck fat. Mature, quite sweet and somewhat broad, but not too old.
