2019 Ingelheim Horn Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Still somewhat reductive, slightly smoky, fleshy and bacony nose of red and increasingly also small black berries with cherry nuances, sesame and herbal to tobacco hints. Fresh and juicy, again rather red fruit, lively, fine acidity and youthful, quite polished, still fine sandy tannin, smoky and delicately bacon notes also on the palate, some yeast, persistent, herbal and spicy hints in the background, certain minerality, some pepper, mustard, juniper and laurel, still completely undeveloped, very good, tight, quite juicy, rather cool finish with spicy and again smoky notes and clearly juniper. Needs to mature.
