2000 Neuenahr Sonnenberg Frühburgunder trocken, Ahr, Germany

Clear garnet red, lighter on the rim. Aroma of red berries and plums, strongly dominated by wood. In the mouth, too, lots of smoky oak, but also juicy fruit, very powerful body, fine-grained tannins, strong roasted notes and some minerals on the palate, very persistent, firm structure, very long, fruity finish with spicy oak. Needs time
