The winery is located in the municipality of Rödelsee (Steigerwald area) in the German wine-growing region of
Franconia. The family has been growing grapes for several generations. After a long membership in a cooperative, they started their own marketing in 1983. Since 1985, the business has been run by Roland and Elisabeth Hemberger. The succession is assured, as their son Tobias is currently training to become a viticultural technician after completing his apprenticeship as a winemaker. He has created a new wine line called "Gradwanderung" with three wines. The vineyards cover 10.5 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites
Kronsberg (Iphofen) and
Küchenmeister and
Schwanleite (Rödelsee). They are planted with the white wine varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Scheurebe, Kerner, Bacchus, Traminer and Müller-Thurgau, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Domina, Dornfelder, Acolon and Portugieser. A speciality is the white-pressed
Blanc de noirs made from Pinot
Noir. In years with suitable weather conditions, an
ice wine is also produced. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines and Secco (sparkling wine) are also produced
