2020 Pinot Noir VDP.Gutswein trocken "Hommage à George", Rheingau, Germany

Somewhat dried vegetal, earthy and bready notes on the nose, ripe red berries and increasingly black berries with aeration, some cherries, aubergines, nuts, meat, sage and leather, restrained roasted barrel notes. Ripe, warm and melting, quite dense, partly preserved, predominantly red fruit, nutty aromas, wild mushrooms, a little herbs as well as a hint of juniper and pepper, slightly sweetish-chocolaty tones on the palate, hints of liquorice and some malt, restrained roasted notes, very good finish with warm juice and ethereal spice.
